Birth of a beautiful invader
Diane Nicolson
Agapanthus praecox is a common plant in Tasmanian gardens. Extremely hardy, it is a declared weed in some states. It is invasive on roadsides, in bush and along waterways in our state. The dense root system competes with native undergrowth and can contribute to flooding down drainage lines.
