What happens when you pair research scientists with high schoolers? Incredible art, that’s what!
Through CoLab, six scientists are paired with two to three high schoolers each who, after a series of workshops, create art inspired by the scientists’ research. The results are then displayed at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery during the Beaker Street Festival.
In the first episode, join Ella and Anna as they hear from scientists Esmat Sarafraz, Samantha Bramich, and Roisin Moloney about the exhibition as well as from the student artists themselves.
In the second episode, Ella and Anna hear from scientists Danielle Zimmerman, Millie Goddard-Dwyer, and Katya Bandow about their experiences with CoLab. We also hear from the students themselves about how they found diving into the artistic side of science.
These episodes of That’s What I Call Science were recorded for Beaker Street’s CoLab Project.
