My work involves finding solutions to make plants healthier. I mainly tackle fungal plant diseases, in crops like blueberries, cherries, native pepper, and grapevines. Some fungi can be beneficial to plants, so my work also considers how we can manage them in agricultural systems. Being an island state, we are lucky that we have less plant diseases than other parts of the world, and part of my work is about supporting biosecurity systems to keep new threats out.
