What if tiny pores on a leaf could help feed the future? I am a PhD researcher at The University of Queensland studying stomata, microscopic pores that act as the gatekeepers of plant life by balancing carbon uptake for photosynthesis with water loss. Using sorghum as my model crop, I combine plant physiology, imaging, and data science to understand how stomata shape crop water use and drought resilience in a changing climate.
