I study how forestry practices shape bird communities in Tasmania’s production forests. By combining field bird count surveys with camera trap data collected across southern Tasmanian wet forests, I’m building a picture of which species thrive under different forestry management regimes, and why. The goal of my research is to help identify which forestry approaches best support healthy, diverse bird communities, informing better decisions for both timber production and conservation in Tasmania’s forest.
