I use satellites and underwater cameras to study coral reefs in a new way: by their colour. Every type of coral, seaweed, and sand reflects light a little differently, like a fingerprint made of colour. By reading these light fingerprints from space, I can map what lives on a reef and track how it changes over time, without needing a diver in the water for every survey. My work helps make reef monitoring faster, cheaper and easier to share, so we can keep a closer eye on these ecosystems as they face a warming ocean.
