I’m a vertebrate ecologist and PhD student with a background in marine science. Passionate about using animal behaviour to better understand and protect marine ecosystems, my current research investigates how offshore infrastructure influences the behaviour of Australian fur seals. Using GPS tracking and dive-behaviour devices, I am looking to uncover the secret lives of seals at sea. I also work with the highly aggressive and territorial Falkland Steamer duck to understand how energetics, habitat-use, and diving behaviour characterise this enigmatic species. Understanding the world around us now enables us to protect and care for it in the future.
