I work on the immunity of Australian insect-eating bats – trying to decipher their amazing immune systems and whether or not they would be able to fight off a deadly fungus that is headed to Australia’s shores… My work has brought me into caves in ocean cliffsides, abandoned barns, and to other continents, and I’ve not only created my own cave in the lab, but also my own bat wings!
