Artist’s Statement

Hi, my name is Olivia Sutcliffe.

I have been practicing photography for about 4 years now. This exhibition is a collection of photos from my photographic class, Youth ARC and a Glow Tour with Dr Lisa Gershwin provided by the Beaker Street Festival Organisation.

This body of work is based around light, including the light movement and discovering the ‘unseen’ under UV light. I have been working on this exhibition since the start of the year. Throughout this project I have learnt a variety of camera techniques that come from the challenges of light-based photography.

Falling in love with photography has opened up a new world to me and I’d like to share this with others as I invite them to come into the darkness to see the magic of light.
