Full-time, 2-year contract (with potential to become an ongoing role), based in Hobart
Closing Date for Applications: 30 November 2021
The General Manager is a new role and will be a key member of the Beaker Street team, responsible for overseeing the Festival and other organisational activities. The General Manager will actively collaborate with the Executive Director and producers. As the role is being created as part of Beaker Street’s growth strategy, it represents an exciting opportunity for the right person to help design and implement new systems and processes for the organisation and the Festival.
The General Manager will be responsible for managing the main day-to-day operational and business activities of Beaker Street, with the primary focus on our annual Festival. This includes management of administration and human resources, finances, compliance, grant research and writing, maintaining relationships with partners, and company governance. The GM will work closely with the ED, who leads the creative and scientific direction of the Festival, including curation and programming. While any role within Beaker Street is inherently creative given the nature of the organisation, the GM role is primarily a management position with a focus on efficient and effective planning and delivery of the Festival, and sustainable business operations. As a key member of the Beaker Street team, the General Manager will be expected to enthusiastically represent the organisation within the arts and events sector and to the broader community.
