Stop 4: East Coast

6pm-10pm | 12/08 | Triabunna

The final stop on the Road Trip takes you to Spring Bay Mill, a stunning site whose history uniquely tells the story of lutruwita/Tasmania. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking surrounds, stay on site in beautiful eco-friendly accommodation, eat and drink the local produce, soak in science, history, stargazing and more at this pristine Dark Sky site.

On Friday 12 August, join scientists Professor Catriona Hurd and Professor Philip Boyd at the Dark Sky Dinner, where you’ll learn about pressing marine issues affecting Tassie’s East Coast and cutting-edge climate solutions. Stay overnight, and on Saturday 13 August, join for NOCTURNA, our Dark Sky Festival finale party – click here for all the information, and add-ons like Aboriginal history tours with Nunami Sculthorpe-Green, book a spot in the Elsewhere Sauna, join an astrophotography workshop, and take a tour of Maria Island on Sunday 14 August.

A Seat at the Table

Beaker Street Festival’s pay-it-forward initiative, A Seat at the Table, helps make our science and art offerings accessible to those who can’t afford to purchase a ticket. Ticket buyers have the option to donate towards the cost of a stranger’s ticket. You won’t know who you’ve helped, but your donation will go directly to allowing someone else to access this great event.

Need a seat at the table? Email: [email protected] with your name, email address, post code, your age (if you don’t mind – it helps us gather data), which event you’re interested in, and whether you would like one or two tickets. Your information will never be shared or made public. If we can offer you a seat, we’ll notify you by email within a week of the event.

The Tassie Science Road Trip is presented by Beaker Street Festival in partnership with
